Watching Pong is like seeing the coolest results of a mid-life crisis, ever. The Austin group is comprised of five thirtysomethings who look like they either fix computers or sell cars. But instead of buying Hawaiian shirts and sports cars to impress the ladies, the guys got together and wrote disco-infused, post-punk tunes that no woman (or man) could resist dancing to. Pong is a favorite of the Austin music scene; crowd favorites include ยKiller Lifestyleย and ยClick OK.ย The band even ups the temptation by adding spinning strobe lights and disco balls to create an atmosphere that will make you forget youยre partying with the IT guy. Openers Cat Scientist and Lick Lick will no doubt match Pong in wackiness and awesomeness, so make sure you get there on time.
