The Houston school district has released its scheduled of community meetings where you can go and have your advice ignored about who should replace Abe Saavedra.
No, no, no — of course your input will not be ignored. It will be included in a lengthy report put together by the search team. And as long as your advice is “Finally get a black superintendent,” it will be followed to the letter, we’re betting.
Here’s the lineup of meetings:
April 27 — HISD South Region Office, 4040 W. Fuqua, 6:30 pm
April 28 — Bellaire High School, 5100 Maple, 6:30 pm
April 29 — Wheatley High School, 4901 Providence, 6:30 p
April 30 — Washington High School, 119 E. 39th Street, 6:30 pm
May 4 — Revere Middle School, 10502 Briar Forest, 6:30 pm
May 5 — Reagan High School, 413 E. 13th Street, 6:30 pm
May 7 — Deady Middle School, 2500 Broadway. 6:30 pm
May 12 — Attucks Middle School, 4330 Bellfort, 7 pm
Update: The last meeting has been changed to May 9, at Ryan Middle School, 2610 Elgin, at 2 pm.
