Ding! It’s round three in Berryhill Baja Grill’s Taco of the Month Series. This August, patrons can enjoy Berryhilll’s taco version of the cheesesteak made with strips of juicy rib eye, pickled jalapeรฑos, sautรฉed onions and red as well as green peppers. Provolone or Cheez Whiz? Neither, for Berryhill gives the traditional recipe a Tex-Mex tweak with the addition of house queso.
With the familiar rich dairy and bovine elements of a cheesesteak and a bit of a kick from the peppers, this taco is a lovely marriage between the cuisines of H-town and the City of Brotherly Love.ย
It made this native Pennsylvanian simultaneously nostalgic for Pat’sย and thankful to live here with access to so many South of the Border dishes. Alas, the heart but not the stomach can be in two places.
The cheesesteak taco ($4.25) is available at all Berryhill Baja Grill locations through August 31.
