In the public eye since he was eight years old, actor Rob Lowe has had a storied life. In An Evening with Actor Rob Lowe: Stories I Only Tell My Friends, he talks about growing up beautiful, famous and, surprisingly, isolated. Lowe worked side by side with then soon-to-be stars Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon and Emilio Estevez in Francis Ford Coppolaโ€™s The Outsiders. He earned a spot in the Brat Pack when he appeared with Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Mare Winningham in Joel Schumacherโ€™s St. Elmoโ€™s Fire. He had equal success on television with roles in successful series such as A New Kind of Family and The West Wing (with Estevezโ€™s father, Martin Sheen). Along the way, he picked up lots of famous friends (Andy Warhol, Roman Polanski, Jane Fonda and Jodie Foster among them), developed a problem with alcohol and made a tame though thoroughly embarrassing sex tape. Heย discusses all this and much more in an -appearance presented by Brilliant Lectures.
