One advantage of contemporary dance’s relentless newness is that an ensemble performance will almost certainly have something for everyone. In the case of the 16th Annual Weekend of Contemporary Texas Dance, this includes tap dancing, trapeze artistry, classical music and intimate pas de deux. Today’s performance includes Frame Dance Productions, which will explore a budding relationship against the urban backdrop of Houston; Suchu Dance, which will dispatch a minimalist foursome to combine repetitive movement with improvisation; Revolve Dance Company, which will explore the meaning of the word synchronicity through powerful contemporary jazz and stomping tap; and up-and-coming choreographer Catalina Molnari, who will share an intimate-movement dialogue set to live piano music. And this is just a sampler of the ten works on offer. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Drive.
