Labor Day Weekend marks the start of college football season. Today sees Reliant Stadium hosting the 23rd Annual Labor Day Classic game between Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M. The annual TSU/Prairie View game is the best of what college football has to offer. Itย’s two teams who really, really donย’t like each other. Itย’s two teams who donย’t just want to win, they want to pulverize somebody while theyย’re at it. (Itย’s UT versus A&M, without ABC television, Thanksgiving leftovers and cameos from Hollywood stars.) And as if all that bone–breaking football isnย’t enough, the Labor Day Classic features outstanding half-time shows by each schoolย’s marching bands, both among the best in the country. The bands will battle to out-strut, out-dance, and outplay each other in a fight that will make the football look like a warm-up act.
