The 7th Annual Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza is food heaven. That may seem like a bold — and slightly sacrilegious — assertion, but the chance to sample specially prepared signature dishes from more than 30 local restaurants is enough to make anyone feel moved by the gastronomical spirit. For $35, you’ll get the opportunity to indulge in the best fare offered by Houston eateries such as Pierson and Company BBQ, Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen and Auntie Chang’s Dumpling House. In addition to the profusion of fine food, there’ll also be beer, wine and vodka tastings. (It’s called an extravaganza for good reason.) MOM is not only about satisfying your desire for some of the city’s best dishes and drinks, though — proceeds from the event benefit Discovery Green and the Center for Hearing and Speech, so you’ll be feasting for a good cause. Local R&B veterans Faye Robinson and the Mid City Players are set to provide the dinner music.
