If you’ve ever wanted to get the full Life-in-Medieval-Times experience, Sunday afternoon at the Texas Renaissance Festival would have given you a good shot at it. Relentless rain turned the normal pathways into rivers of mud. Add in the chilly air and guests and Renaissance Age re-enactors were more bundled up than usual. Five dollar blue rain ponchos were selling at a brisk pace and the 5 p.m. jousting and nighttime fireworks had to be canceled. But a wedding went on as scheduled and (most) everyone seemed to be having a good time. Fortunately, skies are expected to be clear for the grand finale on post Thanksgiving Day weekend. (Photos by Margaret Downing)
