The frenzied and turbulent world of drum ‘n’ bass requires woofers that won’t pop every time the barreling bass lines and whip-snapping snares hit. Fortunately, the Meridian has the kind of juice necessary to support today’s Bassfest 2006. In Area 001, after Switch and Page get the bodies loosened up, the UK’s premier dnb DJs Klute and Amit will shift the night into an all-out bass fury. If it becomes too much, check out the smaller, calmer Area 002, where BMC, Suraj K., Cef and J. Burling will be flexing dubstep and reggae. Bring earplugs, just in case.
