Downtownย’s warehouse district is a hip haven for creative types. Artists of every trade have set up shop there, and once a year they open their doors to un–underground types for ArtCrawl 2008. The annual tour de art allows enthusiasts an all-access pass (well, almost all-access) to the studios and galleries of Houstonย’s most buzzworthy art sector. Get a behind-the-canvas peek, so to speak, at local sculptors, painters, photographers, musicians and more when you check out the latest offerings from warehouse-area galleries such as Box 13 ArtSpace, Elder Street Gallery, Vine Street Studios and Aerosol Warfare Gallery.

Now, for a little bit of bad news: There will be no shuttles this year. So be prepared to walk, run, bike, skip, skate, horseback or drive your own butt around. (Weย’re talking ten blocks here, people. Come on, you could use the exercise.) 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Warehouse District.
