Proving that art isnย’t just something you look at in galleries, but something you can touch, own and take home with you, the HCP is putting 80 prints up for sale at its 2008 auction. The sale itself isnย’t doesnย’t happen until February 15, but the Centerย’s ย“2008 Print Action Exhibitionย” is an ideal chance to peruse what you might want to buy later. The images generally show the two most popular photographic subjects (people and places), with images ranging from Walker Evansย’s View of the Brooklyn Bridge (looking up at the underside of the bridge) to Michael Kennaย’s Frosty Morning (a misty lake in Hokkaido, Japan) to Julie Blackmonย’s Family Portrait (an odd look at home life). See what might look good on your walls from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays to Fridays, noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Through February 13. 1441 West Alabama.
