If they ever award an Oscar for the “Best Mockumentary about a Dog Show Competition,” 2000’s Best in Show would win hands down. Then again, pretty much any film from the brilliant writer/director/actor Christopher Guest and his stable of regulars (including Parker Posey, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and that gym teacher from Glee) would make a strong showing in any mockumentary category. Best in Show has a little more pathos than Waiting for Guffman or A Mighty Wind as it follows five canine competitors on the show circuit along with their human handlers (Guest’s lonely-but-determined bloodhound owner almost steals the show). 8:30 p.m. Domy Books, 1709 Westheimer.
