Although Jared Leto is now 35 years old, he will forever be associated with high school. Thirteen years ago, Leto starred as the rebel Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life and was idolized by throngs of teenage girls. Today, he’s still making female high schoolers swoon, only this time as the emotive singer of the angst-ridden rock outfit 30 Seconds to Mars, who are coming to Verizon Wireless Theater today for the Taste of Chaos Tour. The band’s 2002 debut flopped, but 2005’s A Beautiful Lie got a big push last year with the hit single “The Kill.” Leto still has the baby face of the kid who roamed the halls of Liberty High, but now he’s a Hot Topic nightmare come true — his hair is a mess of black and lipstick red, and his face is caked with black eyeliner. He’s still a rebel, but his cause is beyond comprehension. It’s an angst rock spectacle that demands to be seen. The Used, Senses Fail, Saosin, Chiodos, Aiden and Evaline are also on the bill.
