Once you’ve seen “Mambo Jambo: Cabinet of the Cosmos,” you’ll understand why artist Charlie Roberts calls himself a “maximalist.” The wooden cabinet almost touches the Rice Gallery’s ceiling and sidewalls, and it’s filled with wooden sculptures, while some 200 detailed paintings cover the doors.
