There’s more to explore at the Children’s Museum of Houston, which has expanded and installed seven new permanent exhibits. The daylong Children’s Museum of Houston Grand Opening Celebration features a first look at the new digs, along with live entertainment and a street dance. The interactive exhibits — several of which involve computers and animation — alternately teach and entertain with math (“Cyberchase”), water (“Flowworks”), physical fitness (“Powerplay”), creativity (“Invention Convention”) and even a mini-city where “kids rule” (“Kidtropolis”). The Grand Opening is a must-see for kids and their families. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 1500 Binz. For information, call 713-522-1138 or visit www.cmhouston.org. Free.
