Christopher Paolini was a New York Times bestselling author while still in his teens. His first book, Eragon, was published by Knopf in 2003 and became an immediate success. Inheritance, released earlier this month, is the fourth and final book in the series. Reportedly, Paolini’s goal was “to make sure it was a fitting send-off for the world and the characters.” The teenage boy that was introduced in that first book is now a man, one who has built a reputation as a Dragon Rider and Shadeslayer. In this final book, Eragon and his dragon Saphira will have to confront Galbatorix, the evil king. If they don’t defeat him, all may be lost. Success, however, may come at too great a cost. While this may be the end of the series, Paolini has more stories to tell when he finishes his tour early next year.
