Change is hard for anyone, but itยs especially hard for traveling salesman Gregor Samsa, who wakes up to find himself transformed into a bug. Thatยs the premise of the novella Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. Gregor isnยt as alarmed as intrigued by the situation. He watches his many legs wiggle in the air while he lies in bed; he crawls around on the walls and ceilings. His family isnยt alarmed either ย at least not by his transformation, although they are concerned with the loss of his paycheck.
