We thought we were pretty smart when we came up with a list of awesome Scrabble words that can get you out of a gaming quandary yesterday. Among the categories were words with all consonants, words with all vowels, and words with Q and not U.
But reader Hookaka caught us. And caught us good.
Words with Q and not U??? QIVIUT … nope
In our defense, we were only paying attention to words that use the “QU” combination, which is relatively common in English. I rarely ever get a Q Scrabble tile without waiting around for a U to come along. QIVIUT just got us so darn excited to actually learn the word for musk-ox wool that we were blind to that penultimate letter.
