ย“Dining In III: An Artful Experienceย” serves up plenty of reasons to set the table. The exhibition features handcrafted place settings and other tableware such as candelabras, pitchers, teakettles and cups, butter dishes and more. Elizabeth Cohenย’s Floral Nesting place setting seems to bloom from the table, while Susan Curry hones in on a tropical motif with a lagoon-shaped serving dish and matching palm tree candlesticks. The most interesting pieces, however, are those that usually donย’t make it to the table these days. Cheyenne Chapman Rudolphย’s rattling cob knobs will keep your fingertips free (and fashionable) when youย’re chowing down on corn-on-the-cob, and Martina Lantinย’s flower bricks are a unique alternative to vases. See these and more ways to add a different taste to dinner during an opening reception at 6 p.m. August 7. Regular viewing hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Through August 31. 18 Hands Gallery, 249-B West 19th Street.
