St. Patrick’s Day lands on Tuesday, March 17, and some Houston bars and restaurants are already kicking off the green early. From Irish pubs pouring pints to crawfish boils and whiskey flights, here’s where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – and the weekend – Houston‑style.

Axelrad, 1517 Alabama

The Midtown beer garden celebrates Saint Pat with specialty Teeling Irish Whiskey cocktails – from the New York Sour with Teeling Single Grain, lemon and a Cabernet float to the Paddy’s Maiden with Teeling Small Batch, cucumber, St. Germain, lemon and simple syrup.

Bayou Heights Bier Garten, 3905 Washington 

On Saturday, March 14, Bayou Heights Bier Garten is throwing an all-day St. Patrick’s party starting at 11 a.m. with brunch, followed by a mini market from 3 to 8 p.m., live bands from 7 to 10 p.m. and a DJ until 1 a.m. Expect green beer, themed cocktails and contests including a stein hoisting competition.

BB’s Tex-Orleans, multiple locations

BB’s has got a mudbug deal this Saint Pat’s: get five pounds of live boiled crawfish for $39.99 on March 17; then wash it all down with $5 green frozen margaritas (regular size) all day long.

Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith 

Brennan’s is throwing its Spirit Round Table: St. Patrick’s Day Flight and Bites in the Courtyard Bar, hosted by co-proprietor Brad Brennan. The $40 ticket includes small bites from the culinary team and 1-ounce pours of Jameson, Silkie and Tullamore D.E.W. Triple Blend, available from 2 to 7 p.m.

Christian’s Tailgate, multiple locations 

Christian’s Tailgate marks the holiday with a block party at its Heights outpost starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, plus a festive pub crawl at its Midtown location. Drink specials include $6 Irish Car Bombs, $2 Jell-O shots and $4 pints of green beer.

Doc’s Houston, 1201 Westheimer

Doc’s hosts The David Caceres All-Star Quintet for a St. Patrick’s Day jazz night on a “Blue in Green” theme. Guests can enjoy soulful vocals, masterful alto sax, chef-driven dishes and handcrafted cocktails while celebrating the holiday with world-class music and festive spirit.

Ducky McShweeney’s Irish Pub, 2025 Post Oak

Dress in green and grab a pint for some St. Patty’s Day shenanigans at this friendly Irish pub.

Griff’s, 3416 Roseland

One of Houston’s oldest Irish bars kicks off St. Patty’s festivities with an Irish Crawfish & Shrimp Boil on Saturday, March 14 from noon til sundown.

Heights Bier Garten, 1433 North Shepherd 

On Sunday, March 15, Heights Bier Garten is hosting a Pickle Me Irish Market, a St. Patrick’s celebration featuring pickle-inspired vendors, live music from the Goodtime Muffin Band, a DJ, contests, prizes and festive drink specials. The patio party begins when doors open at 11 a.m.

Jethro’s Cocktail Lounge, 95 Tuam 

Get festive beginning Friday, March 13 with a lineup of St. Patrick’s Day cocktails including the Lucky Charm, Pot of Gold, Irish Mojito, Green Tea shots and a frozen Irish Coffee, available all weekend,

Kenneally’s Irish Pub, 2111 South Shepherd

The Irish pub hosts its annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Saturday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 17. Expect live music all day, bagpipers and Irish step dancers plus a limited special menu featuring its famous stew with homemade Guinness bread and corned beef sandwiches.


Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen Restaurant, 1743 Post Oak

Kenny & O’Ziggy’s is back with a special Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner served with sides and a beer for $29.95 on March 17. The deli’s soda fountain also rolls out one-day treats including a Guinness and Jameson float, Peppermint Paddy Shake and Luck o’ the Irish Sundae.

Little Woodrow’s, 2306 Brazos

The Midtown local hosts a Pre-St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m., featuring a live DJ, all the St. Pat’s features and plenty of Irish cheer.

The neighborhood watering holes will host a St. Patrick’s Day party March 17 starting at 5 p.m. with a DJ, decorations and drink specials including $3.50 green beer, $4 Guinness drafts, $8 Irish Mules with Jameson and $5 Green Tea shots plus $3 tacos and $6 house margaritas.

Local Spot, 6460 Cross Creek Bend
Local Spot is throwing a St. Patrick’s Day celebration beginning at 5 p.m. with specials including $3.50 green beer, $4 Guinness drafts, $8 Irish Mules with Jameson, $5 Green Tea shots, $3 tacos and $6 house margaritas.

McGonigel’s Mucky Duck, 2425 Norfolk

McGonigel’s Mucky Duck hosts its 35th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration March 17 with Irish music on two stages featuring the Pat Byrne Band, Piper Jones Band, Clandestine and more alongside Irish dancers and singalongs. Expect authentic Irish fare and pints of Guinness, Harp and Smithwick’s while the longtime pub keeps the party going with indoor reserved seating and outdoor general admission shows.

Mo’s Irish Pub, 138 Vintage Park

Mo’s Irish Pub at Vintage Park hosts a full weekend of St. Patrick’s festivities featuring live music, Irish dancers and holiday drink specials including Guinness and green beer. Guests can also enjoy classic pub fare like corned beef, shepherd’s pie and fish and chips while bands perform throughout the celebration.

Hit Post for a full day of St. Patrick’s Day festivities, with a Pot O’ Gold scavenger hunt, performances by the Cass-Barrington Academy of Irish Dance, traditional Irish music from Godfrey’s Rangers, bagpipes, balloon artists, face painting and a photo booth from 1 to 5 p.m. The evening continues with trivia in POST Market, $5 drafts and $10 pitchers of green beer, and a rooftop concert from Blood Red Sky covering U2 hits.

Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons

Saint A hosts its annual Saint P celebration Tuesday, March 17 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Beer Garden and Restaurant. The free event features special brews, food, live music from Jared Gibb and Das Ist Slainte, Irish folk dancing from Clann Kelly, a Shop Local market and the brewery’s annual Donegal Beard Growing Competition.

The Union Kitchen, multiple locations

All locations of The Union Kitchen serve St. Patrick’s themed cocktails from March 13 through 17 including the Under the Rainbow Mimosa with blue curaçao for $3.50, the Pot of Gold with Jameson, lemon, honey syrup and mint for $14 and the Shamrock Rita with tequila, lime, orange and blue curacao for $10.
