Farouk Hosny has impressively managed to wield his artistic prowess both as a painter and a politician. His work has been shown all over the world, and heยs created many new pieces exclusively for his current exhibition, ยFarouk Hosny: The Energy of Abstraction,ย at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In his official function as Egyptยs Minister of Culture, Hosnyยs established an opera house, theaters and galleries; in 2006 he created a kerfuffle after calling the hijab a ยstep backย for Egyptian women.
