If youre near Hermann Park today, dont be surprised to hear the distant pounding of drums. Its just the second installment of Bollywood Blast, a music-dance-film bonanza. Presented by Samskriti, the local society for Indian performing arts, and featuring actor and radio personality Sunil Thakkar as host and Bhangra drummer Toki Singh, the performance will alternate live dance with clips from Mumbai-made films. You can expect Bollywoods hallmarks of music and melodramatic romance, interspersed with the elaborate spins and twirls of local Indian dancers wearing every bright shade in the spectrum.
