If you’ve been looking to learn more about wine but have been scared off by terms such as Bordeaux and Gewürztraminer, Wine Week in The Woodlands is for you. The annual event in the northern burbs is for oenophiles and newbies alike. At today’s Wine Walk Through Market Street, you can stroll through the area’s Euro-style promenade as you’re serenaded by live jazz. Wine experts at 25 locations will greet you with a glass of wine (so pacing yourself is key) and some palate-cleansing hors d’oeuvres.
Once you’re appropriately tipsy, take a free shuttle (you’ll need it, wino) to the Delectable Duo After Party. Wine expert Sharron McCarthy will teach you all about sparkling wines, and Kirby’s Steakhouse chef Daniel Nemec will prepare sinfully fresh chocolate truffles and goodies to pair with your bubbly. Sounds fun, but dude, good luck getting to work tomorrow. Wine Walk begins at 6 p.m.; after-party uncorks at 8:30 p.m. For information and a full schedule of events, visit www.wineweekinthewoodlands.com.
