Don’t call them creepy, because bats, lemurs and other pollinators play a valuable role in transporting pollen from one plant to the next. These pollen-toting critters are responsible for as much as a third of the foods we consume, including maple syrup, ice cream, fruit and — for the 21 and up crowd — tequila.
This weekend the Houston Zoo is celebrating these amazing pollinators (bees, butterflies, beetles, birds, bats, lizards, slugs and lemurs) with Pollinator Palooza, presented by Whole Foods Market. Come listen to music, see the ladybug release and participate in pollinator-themed games and activities.
