Yep, it’s spring again, and the folks behind the leftist bi-weekly
rag Free Press Houston are gonna make sure you get out of the
house and experience it at the Westheimer Block Party. More
than 40 area bands, hip-hop acts and DJs are scheduled to perform on
four blocks of Westheimer just east of Montrose. At Numbers (300
Westheimer, 713-526-6551), there will be an art exhibit and swap meet
called “solid. the state of things,” where local visual and
performance artists will show off their latest creations. Let’s hope
our weather forecasters predict clear, sunny skies, a cool breeze and
relatively low humidity when the party gets underway at noon. For
