Houston’s Historic Underground Cistern Open to the Public

Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Houston Arts Alliance hostedย an unveiling event to the media. The Cistern will be open to the public thisย Friday, May 13, 2016. The large underground facility was a holding tank for the city’s drinking water at one time. There will be a $2 admission per person for a 30-minuteย tour. On top of the Cistern the Houston Art Alliance announced New York artistย Donald Lipski’s ย Down Periscope installation, which is live streaming a view of theย inside of the cistern that can be found here.
