Houston’s Historic Underground Cistern Open to the Public

Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Houston Arts Alliance hosted an unveiling event to the media. The Cistern will be open to the public this Friday, May 13, 2016. The large underground facility was a holding tank for the city’s drinking water at one time. There will be a $2 admission per person for a 30-minute tour. On top of the Cistern the Houston Art Alliance announced New York artist Donald Lipski’s  Down Periscope installation, which is live streaming a view of the inside of the cistern that can be found here.
