Admittedly, Houston’s First Ward hasn’t always gotten the best press. But this weekend, you can get a whole new perspective on this historic neighborhood at the Inner Corridor Warehouse & Private Art Tour. Unbeknownst to many Houstonians, there’s a lot of important art being created in the Houston Avenue/Washington Avenue corridor, and you can see it firsthand when you stroll though galleries such as the Houston Foundry, Winter Street Studios and Deborah Colton Gallery, which is showcasing NYC artist Beth Block. Local artists will be on hand to meet and greet, and to discuss (and sell) their works. The event is also a great way to catch up on those FotoFest exhibits you’ve been hearing about. Tour begins at the Houston Foundry, 1712 Burnett. For information and a list of participating galleries, visit ww.innercorridorart.com.
