The Third Annual Her Universe “Geek Couture” fashion show at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 featured designs from twenty seven finalists, selected from hundreds of entries.
The theme of the show was “Powerful Women,” and entries were inspired by comics, books, movies and television shows. Designs featured multiple looks, embedded lights, and even temperature-sensitive disappearing print.
Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein appeared in a spectacular “Little Block Dress” constructed from 10,000 Lego blocks, portraying Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano (whom she voices). It was designed by artist Nathan Sawaya and designer Andrew MacLaine.
