Summer’s here and another season of the Houston Symphony Free Neighborhood Concerts is upon us. The June 24 show at Miller Outdoor Theatre features works from a wide variety of composers including Beethoven, Ravel and Dvorak to Duke Ellington, Morton Gould and the team of Liu Tieshan and Mao Yuan. “One of my favorite times of year is June because of these concerts around town,” says Robert Franz, associate conductor for the symphony. “The audiences are so enthusiastic. We feel it in their response and experience it in our interactive [question-and-answer] section.”
