Hunter Ward left an indelible mark on Houstonยs rock scene, not just with his music but with his charismatic personality. Whenever you saw him playing with Poor Dumb Bastards or hanging out around Montrose, Ward was always upbeat and enthusiastic. It was impossible to be down when Hunter was in the building. Itยs that jovial spirit his friends set out to re-create tonight at the Hunter Ward Memorial. Of course the Poor Dumb Bastards will be headlining the show, kicking out all those gloriously sleazy and insane Texas-drunk-rock jams you know and love, but all bands performing will play either a PDB or Dropouts (Wardยs first band) cover in tribute to their friend. You wonยt want to miss Bark Hardยs rendition of the classic ยMy Dad, Two Whores, and a Crack pipe,ย Something Fierceยs version of ยMy Pussy Hurtsย orย
hell, itยs all gonna rock. Just show up, go wild and raise a beer to Hunter Ward with Dolly Rockers, the Drunks, Whorehound and more.
