Perhaps the pen name “Ilona Andrews” is a bit of a misnomer, since it leads one to believe that the writer is a singular entity. But as any Ilona fan will tell you, the name is not rep-resentative of just one author, but rather a husband-and-wife duo, and they’re pretty awesome. They’re a team, these two — Ilona from Russia and Gordon from the United States — and they’ve co-authored a number of enthralling fantasies. Their first, an urban tale titled Kate Daniels, landed on the New York Times bestsellers list, as did the more -romantic follow-up The Edge. There’s something a bit special about the written chemistry between these two, and that trans-continental romance of the writer pair perhaps just adds to the allure. They will be on hand Tuesday at Murder by the Book to dish about their latest Kate Daniels novel, Magic Breaks, so it would be wise to head on over. After all, with the way their novels are heating up, it may be awhile before you’ll have the opportunity again.
