Serious-minded science fiction is the least doable movie genre on a shoestring budget, but recently a few filmmakers have made impressive low-fi sci-fi by using smart, inexpensive plot devices. Jim Finnยs Interkosmos depicts a low-tech space program. The filmยs a mockumentary about a fictional East German space agency with plans to colonize the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Finn will introduce the film at the Aurora Picture Show today. Tomorrow you can see Finnยs La Trinchera Luminosa del Presidente Gonzalo.
