The title ยliving legendย is hard to live up to, but artist Jack Levine seems to have no problem with it, and his new exhibit, ยJack Levine Retrospectiveย shows us why. Levine began his career in the mid-1920s and early on was part of whatยs called Boston Expressionism. Over the years, he changed his style, but his focus has always been the same: politics and social justice. Levine has work hanging in the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum, the Fogg Art Museumย
and now Congregation Beth Israelยs Margolis Gallery. Thereยs an opening reception 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 11.
