In economic times like these, the word jubilee is an encouraging one. Your office may call off the holiday party and Dubai may buy your neighborhood pub, but cheer up today the Houston Ballet presents its annual Jubilee of Dance, which showcases the range and myriad talents of its dancers. The evening will feature an old favorite, Divergence, one of artistic director Stanton Welchs best-known, highest-energy pieces, as well as the more recent Punctilious, a very technical work set to Dvorák that Welch created in 2007 for the companys youngest stars. Throw in George Balanchines classic Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, and other works set to the likes of Vivaldi, Mozart and Philip Glass, and youve got reason to be jolly indeed. 7:30 p.m. Wortham Center, 501 Texas. For information, call 713-227-2787 or visit www.houstonballet.org. $33 to $150.
