McGonigel’s Mucky Duck St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

It’s rare that you might call a St. Paddy’s party a “refined” affair, but relatively speaking, that’s the goings-on at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. Don’t worry: There will be plenty of drinking, but the emphasis is on cultural history and Irish music. Emcee Jim Mackenzie will shepherd the crowd through a full day of performances from the Irish Session Players, the Irish Gypsies, local step dancers, Clandestine (a fusion of modern rock and classic Celtic), -Wyndnwyre and performance artist Santry Rush.

Top it off with some Beef in Guinness, shepherd’s pie, corned beef and other heart-clogging delights from the all-day menu, and you may, for once, have a St. Patrick’s Day where the beer isn’t the star of the show. Find out why USA Today named Mucky Duck “one of the Top Ten Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the U.S.” Noon. 2425 Norfolk. For information, call 713-528-5999 or visit $15.
