Now you may have a vague inkling of how complicated it must have been to grow up in these girlsย’ house in the 1950s. Memoirs of the Sistahood, a collaborative work from two of the sisters, is a mixed-media journey back to that Catholic home in southern Louisiana. New Orleans-based sculptor Babette Beaullieu Wattigny and Houston-based performer and choreographer Becky Beaullieu Valls use dance, music, spoken word, sculpture and film to tell their tale.
