Ophelia’s Rope is an improv troupe formed by Autumn Clack and Ruth S. McCleskey. McCleskey says “Ophelia’s Rope want its audience to start their Halloween weekend off right by exploring their inner soul for an answer to ‘Who do you want to be?’ and then letting us make up a world onstage inspired by that.” The principals here are not emerging actors but rather seasoned veterans — Clack trained in theater and dance at Adelphi University and the London Dramatic Academy, and McCleskey graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Theater from the University of Houston. The long-form improv asks its audience one or two random questions, and then weaves the responses into a story, with a more elaborate plot than found in short form improv, though equally unpredictable. Vocalists Ellen Dyer and Katy Burns and the Baby Knuckle improv troupe are also set to perform.
