The first-ever Houston Press Best of Houston® BestFest is now a memory, mostly a memory of great musical acts and $5 beer. But the idea behind BestFest was to make the “Best of Houston® come to life,” and that includes arts and culture. So we came up with our own little list of our favorite nonmusical memories. Share some of yours in the comments, and be sure to check out our slideshows from the weekend.
5. Watching people hide bottles and flasks in their crotches. We were pleased to see BestFest patrons continue the great festival tradition of sneaking alcohol past security by hiding it where no one will dare pat you down.
4. Glass-blowing demonstrations at Bomdiggity Smokeshop’s booth.
Bomdiggity dang.
3. Giant effing parasols.
Were we the only ones who put these in our beers to make them into Tiki drinks?
2. Geek koozies at Bedrock City Comic Co.
We picked up “Wingman” koozies for our bros.
1. Live graffiti painting by Aerosol Warfare.
Sweetness itself.
