Paris Falls continues to please us with its fuzzy 60s/70s rock. Married couple Jennifer and Ray Brown (who collectively handle the Rhodes organ, guitar and vocals) and drummer Michael DeLeon cook up a style thats equal parts Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. But dont expect to hear remixed versions of those bands the Browns know how to use influences to their advantage rather than lean on them for support. Youll hear bits and pieces that remind you of former greats woven into tunes that are likely to inspire as much as they are inspired. Paris Fallss debut Vol. I won us over with swinging tracks like Walk Away, and with Vol. II, the group has seemed to slow its roll without sacrificing rock. Vol. IIs second track Shelter has caused quite the buzz on the Houston indie circuit for its blend of heavy beats and lulling breakdowns. Hear both gems and plenty more including previews from the already-in-the-works Vol. III when Paris Falls plays with fellow locals Antarctica Starts Here at 9 p.m. Boondocks, 1417 Westheimer.
