Silly and fun, the story behind Plaid Tidings: The Forever Plaid Christmas Show now running at Texas Repertory Theatre, goes something like this: Four singers named Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie comprise a 1960s foursome that sings in perfect harmony. One tragic night, all four die in a car wreck while on their way to pick up their matching plaid suits. It’s not till the holes in the ozone grow really big that the foursome is allowed to come back and sing one last fabulous show. Plaid Tidings allows the foursome to revisit us one more time. All the same goofy jokes and smooth harmonies remain, but this time they’re singing the Christmas show that will bring the hectic holidays a little harmony. See Plaid Tidings at 8 p.m. Friday, November 17. Times vary. Through December 23. Texas Repertory Theatre, 14243 Stuebner Airline.
