Religion, memory, gender identity and the taco trucks that populate Houston are just some of the heavy subjects that the senior B.F.A. candidates at the University of Houstonยs photography and digital media program have addressed in ยRelational Dialectics.ย In a culminating gallery event at BOX 13 ArtSpace, theyยll show off their chemical and digital photography, Web art, multimedia, video and other techniques that probably donยt even have names yet. The showยs title refers to a communications theory that relationships are in a constant state of flux as participants are pushing and pulling at each other. In this case, the students are dealing with not just the relationships between themselves and their subjects but also their relationship to their art ย a worthwhile topic to explore, since theyยre just about to make the leap from student to pro. After an opening reception at 7 p.m. on March 28, regular viewing hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Through April 30. 6700 Harrisburg. For information, visit www.box13artspace.com. Free.
