The third annual Tapestry of World Dance embraces traditions born from island cultures today with Ring of Fire ย Dances of the Pacific Rim. The evening includes dances by Houstonยs own Tropical Rhythms (Filipino), Pride of the Pacific (Tahitian and Samoan), and Halau Hoยola Ka Mana o Hawaiยi (Hawaiian). Everything from the hula to the fire dance is on the bill tonight, with Terrance Karn appearing as the eveningยs special guest artist. The show includes live music from drummers and a gamelan orchestra who will accompany the ornately costumed dancers showing off the cultural diversity of our city.
