How hard can it be to conduct an orchestra? Come on, waving a wand and making dramatic faces – even Bugs Bunny has done it! Now, how hard is it for an orchestra to perform without a conductor? Ah, that’s a different question. (Sorry, we have no cartoon reference for this one.) The River Oaks Chamber Orchestra is giving it a go during its Valentine’s Day Conductorless Concert and dinner. The program includes music by Haydn, Dvorak and Janacek, as well as some promised surprises. 5 p.m. The Houstonian, 111 North Post Oak. For information, call 713-665-2700 or visit www.rocohouston.org. $95 (price includes show, three-course dinner, dessert, and nonalcoholic beverages).
