Womenยs issues get the big-screen treatment at todayยs Short Films from Emily Hubley, when the Aurora Picture Show presents seven shorts from the award-winning film-festival darling. Short topics include dreaming about the doctor who delivered you; a motherยs daily ritual of poetry, history and volleyball-inspired aerobics; and a grandmotherยs her-story of ever-evolving attitudes toward menstruation. Sounds serious, but many of the shorts are set to the music of rockers Yo La Tengo and combine live action and animation to lighten up the mood. And tomorrow, Aurora hosts Hubleyยs latest opus: The Toe Tactic, a live-action-meets-animation feature film with the voice of comedian David Cross and more music by Yo La Tengo. The Short Films from Emily Hubley program screens at 7 p.m. today; The Toe Tactic screens at 7 p.m. tomorrow. Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet.
