If you canยt beat ยem, join ยem. This seems to be the approach Frank Sinatra, Jr. has taken with his career. Throughout his adult life, others have considered Sinatra an extension of his dadยs legacy (either favorably or condescendingly), and now Junior, whoยs reached the ripe age of 62, is shifting through Seniorยs repertoire for Sinatra Sings Sinatra, a show with the Houston Symphony. Heยll dust off ยMy Way,ย ยIยve Got the World on a String,ย ยI Get a Kick out of Youย and other classics for the three-night engagement. Say what you will about Frank Jr.ยs small stature compared to that of his father (or Nancy, for that matter), but none of the Sinatra imitators out there have as much of the originalยs swagger as Junior doesยor as much of his DNA. Watch the kid swing today at 7 p.m. in the closing performance. Additional performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, October 12 and 13. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana. For tickets and information, call 713-224-7575 or visit www.houstonsymphony.org. Tickets start at $28
