Banking on the success of Late Nite Catechism!, the one-woman show featuring a wisecracking nun that ran throughout the fall, Stages Repertory Theatre opens a sort of sequel called Sisterยs Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magiยs Gold. In her latest tale, which stars Amanda Hebert, the good sister, who treats the audience like a roomful of misbehaving school kids, scolding them or rewarding them with trinkets depending on their behavior, is on the hunt for the Magiยs gold. The nun already knows what happened to the frankincense and myrrh that Mary got ย potpourri for the barn ย but the missing gold gets the full forensic treatment. Critics across the country have said the show is laugh-out-loud funny, even if it is a bit predictable. Sounds like an amusing and safe bet. Sisterยs Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magiยs Gold starts at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays, and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. Through December 30. 3201 Allen Parkway.
