Psophonia Dance Company’s performance this weekend, Squeeze a Little Harder, is a bit of a bait-and-switch. The evening-length program might seem to be a lusty burlesque show, but it’s really a commentary on the culture of over-consumerism. Via a press release, Psophonia makes it clear: “Don’t just look – touch, take. Get that house, buy that car, fill your life with stuff.” Of course, Psophonia says all that with music and dancing showgirls – this is a dance concert, after all. 8 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
