ย“How often does somebody give you a house and say, ย‘Go crazy?ย’ย” laughs Amelia Reiff Hill, a participant in the Summer 2007 Public Arts Projects exhibition at Project Row Houses. Hill, a student at Rice University, and other college students from across the city spent the last six weeks with an empty row house creating an exhibit of new work. Hillย’s exhibit, called ย“You Canย’t Beat the System,ย” is an installation that includes paintings, found objects and hanging painted canvas. UH student Myrna Martinezย’s ย“What You Gonna Do When They Come for You?,ย” which addresses the gentrification of Third Ward, includes painted ย“Not for Saleย” signs and handwritten notes from viewers discussing the topic. Drop by and see what happens when young artists exchange classrooms for studios.

Wednesdays-Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Aug. 25. Continues through Sept. 9
