Adriana Sevan has had a very successful acting career. TV, film, stage you name it, and the New Yorkers done it. Lately Sevan has been winning accolades for her writing. Her one-woman show Taking Flight, making its regional premiere here, focuses on the time the writer/actress spent by her best friend Rhondas side after Rhonda was horribly injured on 9/11. Both funny and sad, the play charts the often difficult relationship that emerges during this period. The two start out as great galpals, but the aftermath of Rhondas devastating injury takes its toll and they become estranged. But hard times make for the best art, and the award-winning play with actress Annie Henk (Stages fans will remember her amazing 2006 performance in The Cook) offers a funny, moving contemplation of the complexities of friendship in the face of tragedy. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays, and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays.
