Anyone whoยs worked for a temp agency can rattle off horror stories about psychotic coworkers, mundane, soul–crushing tasks and the overall icky, whorish feel of it all. But Austin-based playwright Dan Dietz has elevated the temp experience to operatic, Homeric levels with his comedy temp-Odyssey, Amy Hopper plays Genny. On her first day as a temp, the fabric of space and time decides to unleash its worst day ever, with Genny as its target. Nova Arts Project, in its press materials, jokingly vows to create a ยblack hole live onstage.ย There will be a TalkBack after tonightยs performance, with the actors and some NASA types (no, really, NASA staffers) discussing the play and cosmic science stuff, then judging Novaยs ยBuild Your Own EZ Bake Black Hole Oven!ย contest.
